Apple Sunshine Deco

For all of you who have apple trees in their gardens: if you happen to have one of those beautiful sun-blushed sorts and the fruit haven't turned red yet, don't miss your chance to turn them into real eye-catchers! All you need is some stickers, a ladder if your tree is tall, and some patience to let the sun do its job.

1. Select your stickers. You may choose numbers (which are great for birthday parties), name initials for your friends and family, dots, stripes, dogs, cats, or even dinosaurs. You may also cut-out your own images. The possibilities are endless!

2. Carefully put your stickers on the apples. Make sure not to damage the stem, otherwise the apple will end up on the ground too early. Try to put away any leaves that may cast a shadow on the fruit - you want to make sure the area with a sticker is as fully exposed to the sun as possible.

3. Watch your apples turn red over the next few weeks. Pick them like you normally do, bring them home and carefully peel the stickers off to reveal bright yellow silhouettes shining against deep red background.

4. Share the joy! Give an apple with a dinosaur to a dinosaur aficionado and a polka-dot one to your sister to match her new dress. Everyone should have some apple fun this autumn!

P.S. We don't have a garden, and this exciting project owes its life to Zulfi, who not only allowed us to cover his apple trees with stickers, but also took some beautiful photos. Thank you, Zulfi!

Child's Own Studio

What a wonderful idea - to give their illustrated creatures a life in 3D!
Wendy Tsao has been making soft toys from children's drawings since 2007, and by now over 400 kids have received their one of a kind new friends. Wendy aims to convey colours and textures as true to the original drawing as possible, and her attention to detail is simply fascinating. She is fully booked for 2013, but if your child drew someone, and he really likes that someone, and you just happen to have some scrap fabric... there is nothing mothers can't do!

Dads take creative parenting seriously. Way too seriously, sometimes. David Laferriere has been illustrating his kids' sandwich bags since 2008. Another guy dresses up as a different character each day when waving his son to school. Thoughtful? Funny? Embarassing? What do you think?

Donna Wilson's House Throw - what a great idea!

Totally fascinated by this House Throw Play Den Set by Donna Wilson!

Check out her creatures as well - really cute!

Hello everybody,

Welcome to Foldie's official blog! My name is Helga, I am the person who is responsible for both creative and business sides of this project, and I am here to share all the hottest news with you. Apart from talking about Foldie T-shirts (which is unavoidable) and my son Misha (absolutely unavoidable - parents, you know what I mean!), I will also be sharing thoughts and articles on design, parenting, DIY, as well as ingenious life hacks that I stumble upon on the internet every now and then. Enjoy! :)
